For more than seventy years, Avondale Preparatory School has built a proud tradition of academic excellence, character development, and student success. Guided by its motto, “Education – The Key to Success,” the Kingston-based institution has consistently provided a caring environment where students are encouraged to think independently, act responsibly, and strive for excellence.
Today, that tradition continues as Avondale Preparatory proudly joins the 2026 CThink Jamaica Junior Debates, Jamaica’s premier critical thinking and educational debate league.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
Participation in CThink allows students to move beyond textbooks and apply what they learn to real-world issues. Through research, teamwork, public speaking, and respectful debate, students develop confidence while learning to analyse evidence, defend ideas, and appreciate differing viewpoints.
Each debate challenges participants to think creatively, communicate effectively, and solve problems—skills that will serve them throughout secondary school, university, and their future careers.
Representing the Avondale Community
For the students selected to represent Avondale Preparatory, wearing the school’s colours is both an honour and a responsibility. Every debate provides an opportunity to demonstrate discipline, teamwork, integrity, and leadership while proudly representing their teachers, classmates, parents, and alumni on a national platform.
