Commissioner Dr. Claudette Morris Calls Jamaicans to Continue Building the Nation Through Education, Leadership and Service

KINGSTON, Jamaica — C-Think Global Debates has joined members of the Mico University College Foundation of America (MOSA) in celebrating Jamaica’s 64th Anniversary of Independence, echoing a message of national pride, resilience and educational transformation issued by Dr. Claudette Morris, Diaspora Ambassador for MOSA and Chair of the C-Think Global Commission.
In her Independence Day message, issued in her capacity as Diaspora Ambassador for MOSA, Dr. Morris reflected on Jamaica’s remarkable journey from emancipation to independence and encouraged Jamaicans everywhere to remain committed to building a stronger nation through education, leadership and service.
She also celebrated the enduring contribution of The Mico University College, whose graduates have shaped education, public service, business and community development for more than 190 years.
Education Builds Nations
Dr. Morris reminded Jamaicans that independence is more than a national holiday—it is a continuing responsibility.
She encouraged Jamaicans at home and throughout the Diaspora to continue investing in young people, strengthening communities and supporting institutions that prepare future generations for leadership.
Her message recognised the importance of preserving Jamaica’s proud heritage while embracing innovation, service and lifelong learning.
