The C-Think I-Teach Awards honour the individuals who educate, inspire and transform lives both inside and outside the classroom.
Presented by C-Think Jamaica Debates, the Awards recognise excellence in teaching, educational leadership, journalism, entertainment, community service and critical thinking while giving the Jamaican public an opportunity to celebrate the educators who have made the greatest impact on their lives and communities.
The I-Teach Awards are built on a simple belief:
Education happens everywhere—and those who inspire learning deserve to be celebrated.
2026 Award Categories
🏆 I-Teach Educator of the Year
The programme’s highest honour, presented to Jamaica’s outstanding educator from among the category winners.
🏆 Teacher of the Year
Recognising excellence in classroom teaching, student development and educational impact.
🏆 Principal of the Year
Recognising exceptional leadership and commitment to educational excellence.
🏆 Debate Coach & Critical Thinking Educator of the Year
Recognising educators who have developed students through debate, public speaking, critical thinking and leadership.
🏆 Community Educator of the Year
Recognising individuals who educate beyond the classroom, including ministers of religion, youth leaders, social workers, NGO leaders, police youth club leaders, librarians and other community mentors.
🏆 Educational Journalist of the Year
Recognising journalists whose work has informed, educated and strengthened public understanding of important national issues.
🏆 Educational Entertainer of the Year
Recognising entertainers, authors, actors, broadcasters, poets and other creative professionals whose work promotes education, positive values, culture and national development.
🏆 Educational Innovation Award
Recognising outstanding innovation in teaching, educational technology or learning programmes.
🏆 Lifetime Contribution to Education Award
Recognising an individual whose lifetime of service has made an exceptional contribution to education and national development.
🏆 C-Think People’s Choice Award
Presented to the finalist receiving the highest number of subscriber votes across all award categories.
How the Awards Work
Phase 1 — Subscriber Nominations
Nominations are open exclusively to registered C-Think subscribers.
Subscribers may nominate one individual in each category by completing the online nomination form and explaining why their nominee deserves recognition.
This ensures that the awards remain community-driven while rewarding those who support the C-Think movement.
Phase 2 — Eligibility Review
The C-Think Secretariat will review all nominations to ensure that nominees satisfy the eligibility requirements for their respective categories.
Phase 3 — Selection of Finalists
A selection panel comprising members of the C-Think Secretariat, educational leaders and invited advisors will review all eligible nominations.
Three finalists will be selected in each category.
The finalists will then be announced publicly through:
- C-Think Weekly
- Television Jamaica (TVJ)
- Mello FM
- Riddim FM
- CThink.org
- C-Think social media platforms
Phase 4 — Public Voting
Once the finalists are announced, C-Think subscribers will be invited to vote for their favourite finalist.
Subscriber voting will determine the winner of the:
C-Think People’s Choice Award
This award celebrates the educator or public figure who has inspired the greatest support from the Jamaican public.
Phase 5 — Final Judging
An independent judging panel will evaluate the finalists using published judging criteria.
The judges’ decisions will determine the winners of all remaining award categories, including the prestigious:
