Three Schools. Three Debates. One Mission: Developing Critical Thinkers for Jamaica.
KINGSTON, Jamaica — July 10, 2026 — The C-Think Jamaica Debates returns to St. George’s College on Friday, July 10, 2026, for another exciting Youth League Speakers’ Day, bringing together students from St. George’s College, Seaforth High School and Morant Bay High School to debate some of the most important issues affecting young people in today’s digital world.
Under the overall theme “Relationships & Modern Dating,” students will examine how technology, social media and changing social norms are influencing relationships among young people and whether schools should play a greater role in preparing students to navigate those realities safely and responsibly.

Moot:
“This House would empower schools to discipline students for relationship-related conflicts that originate on social media platforms.”

St. George’s College vs Morant Bay High School
Moot:
“This House would mandate compulsory digital relationship education, including communication, consent and privacy, in secondary school curricula.”

Seaforth High School vs Morant Bay High School
Moot:
“This House would make Digital Relationship Literacy a compulsory part of the secondary school curriculum.”
More Than a Debate
Together, these debates will explore some of the most pressing questions facing Jamaican schools today.
Should schools intervene when relationship conflicts begin online?
Should students be formally taught how to build healthy relationships in an increasingly digital world?
Should digital relationship literacy become an essential life skill for every secondary school student?
These are not simply debate topics—they are real issues confronting today’s generation, making the discussions both timely and highly relevant.
Broadcast Nationally on TVJ
The debates will be professionally recorded for future broadcast as part of C-Think Weekly, airing on Television Jamaica (TVJ), giving students an opportunity to showcase their critical thinking, communication and leadership skills before a national audience.
Selected highlights will also feature in the programme’s Mid-Season Recap Special, scheduled to air on Saturday, August 1 (Emancipation Day).
A Special Tribute
The day’s programme will also include the recording of a special tribute honouring the late Mr. Desta Effs, whose commitment to Seaforth High School and passion for youth development continue to inspire the C-Think family.
His contribution to education and to the lives of countless students will be recognised during the C-Think Weekly Mid-Season Recap programme.

The C-Think Jamaica Debates is produced by CAP Media & Marketing Limited and is adjudicated and convened in Jamaica by The Mico University College, whose leadership continues to ensure the highest standards of academic excellence, debate adjudication and educational development throughout the League.

Building Jamaica’s Future Leaders

It is about developing young Jamaicans who can analyse information critically, communicate confidently, respect differing opinions, solve problems creatively and lead responsibly.
