A Proud Tradition Meets a New Challenge
Few schools in Jamaica have a history as rich and distinguished as St. Catherine High School. Known for producing outstanding graduates, including Jamaica’s Prime Minister, the school has long been recognised for developing young people who go on to make meaningful contributions to national life.
In 2026, St. Catherine High added a new chapter to that proud tradition by joining the CThink Jamaica Youth Debates for the very first time.
Their debut could hardly have been more impressive. Facing the experienced St. George’s College, St. Catherine High delivered a confident performance to secure victory and announce its arrival as a serious contender in the league.
“Every great tradition begins a new chapter when it embraces new opportunities.”

A Team Ready to Grow
Behind every successful debate team is a dedicated support system, and St. Catherine High has found that in an enthusiastic and committed team manager whose passion has helped inspire students to embrace the CThink experience.
From preparation sessions to competition day, the team’s energy and willingness to learn have been evident. Their opening victory reflects not only talent but also careful preparation, teamwork, and a determination to represent their school with distinction.
CThink provides the perfect platform for students to strengthen their research, communication, leadership, and critical-thinking skills while engaging respectfully with some of the most important issues affecting Jamaica and the wider world.
Only the Beginning
Winning the opening match is an important milestone, but the season is only just beginning. With every debate, St. Catherine High will continue building experience, confidence, and resilience while competing against some of Jamaica’s strongest schools.
The team’s early success has already demonstrated that they have both the ability and the ambition to make a lasting impact in their first CThink campaign.
“Success is never the finish line—it is the starting point for even greater achievement.”
